![]() However, I soon realized that although the app would reopen, 100% of my data was gone!!! What I have learned is not to trust important data to a program like this that doesn’t have a company behind it that has sufficient technical experience, a competent support organization, and the marketing desire to help a customer, rather than simply hide when their product doesn’t work. I was very excited after I put in my password and the app to opened up. Today, an update for the app became available so I downloaded it and updated the app. Eventually, when I simply asked them directly for technical support to help me open the app, their responses ceased, and after continual emails I never got another response. Soon their email responses took longer and longer to be returned, like up to a week or more. Their help was nearly nonexistent, or inane. I emailed support and it took forever for them to respond. Had a friend looking for a password keeper app, couldn’t recommend this app at all. There is no phone number it’s only an email that you have to wait around for a day or two, if you’re lucky, to have some kind of assistance. The customer support is a joke! They like to blame you for your ignorance. Apps are the future why waste time with creating a web based feature? It’s difficult to export all my data since they have the file in a format that’s not easy for other password applications to read, otherwise I would have already abandoned this app. They have pushed everyone to an web based SplashID which I’m against but was forced into. If for any reason I’m not in an area with data I can not access the app. On my phone the icons do not match up with the correct types like they do on the desktop app. ![]() I now have an iPhone and MAC, and it crashes all the time! I’ve lost count how many time it crashes on a given day when I’m trying to access it. It has been a great run Splash, but, fix these problems or I’m finding another password manager come time for my subscription renewal. BECAUSE THE FIELD IS SUPPOSE TO REMAIN LABELED! While no data is lost, it’s BEYOND irritating to have to go through each record and make sure the icons and fields are set where they should be, especially when one may not necessarily remeber what the field label is suppose to be for a particular string. Sometimes it happens, sometimes it doesn’t. There is a chance when I load my vault from a different device and cloud sync, that data field labels will change, custom icons get shifted around and other wacko things happen in a completely indescriminate and intermittent fashion. Why am I giving it two stars? It suffers from some bugs that have existed for YEARS! The most annoying bug(s) being. At any point, you can set the record back to sync with the cloud. If the record is already on the web app or on any other devices running SplashID, it will get deleted from those apps. This means the record stays local on the device and does not sync to the cloud server. It has always done what it’s suppose to do well however, Splash has struggled to modernize with the times. Make Local will designate any record in your SplashID database as Local only. My family and I have been using this app for nearly twenty years, since the PDA days.
