WORKING ENVIRONMENT AND PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS Drug and alcohol testing as required by the Oregon Board of Education and Federal DOT requirements.Valid Oregon CDL with Air Brake, Passenger, “S” endorsements and ODOE certified and current with required number of training hours on record with the ODOE.Experience driving buses in city traffic preferred (training available).At least 3 years of personal driving experience with clean record.Current Oregon Commercial Driver’s License and clear driving record required within 90 days of hire.Self-motivated to complete assigned tasks in a timely manner.Interpersonal skills to work respectfully and kindly with students of varying ages and cultures.Ability to locate pickup sites on a map.Ability to communicate on telephone, voicemail, and e-mail.Extensive knowledge of motor vehicle laws.Ability to safely drive all sizes of school buses.Frequent contact with parents, faculty, and other School constituents.Complete required school trainings annually (CPR, first aid, mandatory reporting, safe handling of hazardous materials, etc.).Keep updated with OSHA safety trainings and submit documentation to Human Resources.Attend all scheduled driver meetings and participate in training sessions offered by the School.Report any convictions for driving, accidents, or criminal offenses to the Transportation Coordinator within 15 days of occurrence, as specified in Oregon regulations.Maintain a current Commercial Driver License, Endorsements and School Bus Driver Certificate at all times.Report all vehicle problems to the Bus Mechanic promptly and consult with Bus Mechanic for resolution.Report all discipline problems and concerns to the Facilities Director or Transportation Coordinator. Maintain order and safety among riders on the bus at all times.Operate vehicles in accordance with all applicable Federal, State, and local laws and regulations, and in compliance with all School policies.Checks for items left on the bus after each trip.
